Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers were bred to lure ducks within shooting range by acting unhinged at the water’s edge, and they never really stopped. They’re small enough to fit in your house but possess the intensity of a much larger dog, combined with a refusal to accept that fetch has an ending point. If you own one, you understand why “tolling” became a verb: they will literally toll at you until you’re too exhausted to refuse whatever they want.
