About the Blue Lacy

The Blue Lacy is Texas through and through, a breed built not for the show ring but for the real work of hunting wild boar through brutal terrain and pushing livestock across open range. Developed in the mid-1800s by the Lacy family and later named the official State Dog of Texas, this breed carries that designation honestly. Blue Lacy owners tend to be a particular kind of dog person: someone who wants a partner, not a pet. These dogs think, problem-solve, and push hard from sunrise to sundown without complaint. That signature blue coat is not just striking, it is a genetic fingerprint of the breed itself. They are still rare outside Texas, which means the people who seek them out usually know exactly what they are looking for. Owning a Blue Lacy is a commitment to keeping up with a dog that will outwork most people. The community around this breed is tight-knit and proud, and rightly so. This shop exists to celebrate that pride and the remarkable working dog behind it.
